Overview

This 7 Days, 7-Nights, 6- Riding day tour from Tignish to Elmira on the Confederation trail on Prince Edward Island. This tour rides the rail-to-trail Confederation trail on the Island with all crushed limestone trail. You will visit red-sand beaches, quaint towns, historic buildings, museums of all kind (even a potato museum), lighthouses and plenty of seafood restaurants and cafes to fill your eating pleasures. We have added a relaxing day where you will be shuttled to Cavendish and ride into the National Park, have lunch in North Rustico, head back to Cavendish to visit Anne of Green Gable, sit on the beach and see a sunset. You will stay in top rated hotels and Inns while on the tour. Transportation is provided by our PEI experts who will provide you with history of this lovely island as well as be available if there are any issues while on the trail. Pricing is in USD. Schedule

This 7-night, 6-day ride from Tignish to Elmira on Prince Edward Island on the Confederation Trail. You have overnights in Charlottetown, Mill River, Summerside, Charlottetown, Cavendish, St. Peter’s Bay, and return to Charlottetown. Our route directions will keep you on the Confederation Trail except for lunch and evening lodging. We also transport you to Cavendish where you can ride into the National Park and see Anne of Green Gable.

Day 1

Day 1

Travel Day – Arrive in Charlottetown, PEI

This is a day to travel to PEI, flying or driving. An overnight stay for you in Charlottetown at a very nice hotel within walking distance of wharf and restaurants.

Day 2

Shuttle (8:30-8:45a.m.): Charlottetown to Tignish (western PEI) and Ride to Mill River

The shuttle will meet you at your lodging for transportation to Tignish in western PEI (2 hour drive). Begin at KM marker “0” to begin an afternoon ride of 45 km to Mill River, your overnight destination.  (24 mi)

Summerside

Day 3

Mill River to Summerside

Today’s ride takes you through farmlands and small towns.  Stop in Ellerslie to see how ship building industry thrived in the 1800’s, find ice cream at Richmond Dairy Bar (km 81) then off to Summerside, the Island’s second largest city for evening lodging on the waterfront and boardwalk. (44 mi)

Day 4

Summerside to Charlottetown to Cavendish

Follow the Trail to Kennsington and stop at the historic Railway Station (km 122) then through rolling hills on your to outside the northern part of Charlottetown where you will be shuttled to Cavendish for the night (48 mi)

Day 5

Cavendish

Spend the day in Cavendish riding the National Park along the north coast and seeing the red sand beaches.  Have lunch in North Rustico, famous for their seafood restaurants before heading back to Cavendish where you can visit the Anne of Green Gable property, try some putt putt golf or just sit at the beach and watch the sunset. Hotel will be in Cavendish.

Day 6

Shuttle Cavendish to Charlottetown then ride to St. Peter's Bay

Shuttle in the morning again back to Charlottetown to get back on the Trail which  follows the Hillsborough River part of the day on the way to St. Peter’s. You might want to check out the beautiful Greenwich PEI National Park (15 Km from St. Peter’s).  (37 mi)

Day 7

St. Peter's to Elmira at east end of the Confederation Trail

Today’s ride will take you through some of the most scenic coastal views.  Take some pictures and enjoy the views.  You will ride over the 235 food long Morell River Bridge at km 221 – the longest bridge on the trail.  Meet the shuttle at Elmira trailhead for a ride back to Charlottetown and a final overnight on the Island.  43 km (27 mi).  Option to ride to East Point Lighthouse which add another 7 miles.
