Ride on the Katy Trail with the Big BAM and Crossroads Bike Tours, your #1 Tour on the Katy Trail. Let Crossroads Bike Tours guide you with our experience and knowledge of this trail. Our hotels and camping for the Economy Option are clean and friendly locations along the trail We meet in St. Charles Sunday at 11:00am and leave at 12:30am and shuttle you to Clinton, MO for our kickoff rally, music and food. This is where you will spend the first night. Then, over the next 6 days you will ride across the state of Missouri experiencing the hospitality and beauty of the "Show Me" State. Enjoy rural Missouri wildlife, winery towns, the 1st and current capital cities and the views along the Missouri River. Your Big BAM 7-day Standard Hotel Option Includes: • $450 Big BAM Bracelet/Registration • Shuttle from St. Charles to Clinton at 12:30pm on Sunday • Free parking in St. Charles in the lot where we pick up • 6 nights lodging along the trail (with confirmations) - 5 nights in hotels, 1 night tent camping (Augusta) • 3 breakfasts provided • Crossroads' App for trail and town information • Ride with GPS download Katy Trail Route information • Luggage shuttle to and from each lodging locations - 1 medium bag (max. 40lbs) * (see below) • Luggage tags with Names and hotels listed • SAG Stops each day along the trail - water and snacks provided • Rider Sweep and Emergency Ride Services provided by Crossroads • Music every night in our town locations - transportation provided by Crossroads • Big BAM T-shirt • Big BAM activity bracelet for the SAG stops and Music Venues • Katy themed patch • Some breakfasts and all lunch and Dinners are paid by the riders We also provide a tour guide each morning highlighting the day on the trail. a sweeper to ensure all riders have arrived off the trail and at the next stop as well as fix minor bike issues on the trail as well as at night. This tour includes luggage shuttle for 1 medium (40lbs or less) bag. If you need any additional bags (including backpacks, computer bags or added luggage) shuttled, you will need to add this to your booking/purchase now for $210/bag. Day 1

Meet in St. Charles at 11:00am to begin boarding the buses to Clinton.  This is a 4 hour ride with a stop along the way.  You will then be dropped off at the launch party with introductions, music, refreshments and dinner.  Then it is off to your hotel in Clinton for the night.

Day 2

Clinton to Sedalia - 38 Miles

Begin your ride on the KATY trail and head to Sedalia – 36 miles. Sedalia is home of the State Fair as well as Scott Joplin. Sedalia has a nice KATY Trail Depot museum that is worth your time for a visit. You will have a SAG stop each day along with a dedicated Lunch location and a sweep on the trail for bike help. Hotel in Sedalia with dinner reservations planned then a band and drinks back at our hotel

Day 3

Cycling Day: 37 miles-Sedalia to Boonville

We will begin our day at the KATY Trail Depot Museum in Sedalia or the Scott Joplin Museum before departing Sedalia. Your destination on the trail is Boonville, named for Daniel Boone’s Children. Boonville is home to one of Missouri’s Casinos or you can walk the quaint streets and visit their shops. Lunch in Pilot Grove another SAG stop  and sweep on the trail.

Day 4

Cycling Day: 50 miles-Boonville to Jefferson City

Today is the longest section of our tour on the Katy Trail, 50 miles to Jefferson City. We visit Rocheport and the only tunnel on the Katy Trail. In the morning you will cycle beneath towering limestone bluffs some of the highest on the trail. The Missouri River can be seen frequently during the day as well as many small bridges. Our destination is N. Jefferson trailhead across the river from Jefferson City. Follow the path across the Missouri on the safe bike bridge with awesome views of the river and capital building. Lunch  on the trail and we have another SAG stop, as always, our sweep is there to help ensure all riders are taken care of for the day.  Hotel in Jefferson City with dinner reservations at the location where the band will be for the night.

Day 5

Cycling Day - 47 miles Jefferson City to Hermann

We get up early today to get to Herrmann in early after noon. We have breakfast then begin your tour with a breath taking view of the Missouri River and Capital from the trail bridge. Continue on the trail and view the farms and wineries as you enter the “Rhineland Region”, settled by Germans in the early 1800’s finding fertile soil and wild grapes. Spend the night in Hermann, which is home to four outstanding wineries, two brewing companies and one distilling company. Lunch on the trail again and a SAG stop to ensure everyone is hydrated and has plenty of energy. Our sweep is always ready to handle any issues that arises on the trail. We have a wine tour at the oldest winery in Missouri along with a wine tasting at 3:30 then dinner at the winery.  After dinner we head back to our hotel where there is an outside band playing.

Day 6

Cycling Day - 37 miles Hermann to Augusta

Later start today because our mileage is less. We continue riding through farm and wine country to Marthasville, Daniel Boone’s last home and buried site and lunch. Then on to Augusta (pop. 257) with its 5 wineries, antiques shops and glass/Artist studio awaiting you in this beautiful town. Lunch in a quant town then another SAG stop and the sweep is there for your needs. There are 2 wineries in walking distance of our B&B's as well as a brewery in town. There is plenty of places to relax and see a beautiful view of Augusta.  Dinner tonight in an award winning restaurant before the Grand Finale at the Beer Garden with music and prizes.

Day 7

Cycling Day - 27 miles - Augusta to St. Charles

Final day’s ride from farmland to urban environment as you move closer to historic Old St. Charles, a trading post town. We get on the trail around 9:00am and ride back to St. Charles.  SAG and Lunch at same location in St. Charles our final lunch and goodbyes. Your bags will be waiting for your by your vehicles or you will get on the 3:00pm bus back to Clinton if you started from the West.  If you have time visit Missouri’s First State Capital building and many of other original buildings on Main St.
