You begin your 3-day 2-night tour in St. Charles where you are picked up and driven to Jefferson City or, we suggest, shortening the first day ride and start in Mokane or Portland, MO so to arrive in Hermann early enough to sample the wines. Then spend the next day’s riding back to St. Charles enjoying rural Missouri, wildlife, winery towns and riding along the Missouri River. Day One

Cycling Day: 42 miles- Jefferson City to Hermann (Alternative is be dropped off in Mokane or Portland to ensure enough time in Hermann)  – Meet the shuttle van at 8:00am in St. Charles near the eastern end of the Katy Trail. Overnight parking is available at the KATY parking lot and is free for your entire ride. The St. Charles trailhead is a 20-minute drive or taxi/uber from St. Louis Airport (STL). The shuttle will pick you and your bike up and drive directly to the KATY Trailhead in Jefferson City (2.5- 3 hours). Ride east along farm lands into Hermann where you will cross the Missouri River on a safe bike bridge. The winery town of Herman has much to offer including Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries, restaurants and antique shops.

Day Two

Day Three

Cycling Day: 27 miles-Augusta to St. Charles – This is your final day of cycling. Leave the B&B in Augusta and ride east on the trail to St. Charles where you have left your car at the trailhead in St. Charles. But before you get to St. Charles, you need to stop in Defiance, just 7 miles from Augusta to see the squirrel bar or other unique bars in this town. When you arrive in St. Charles you are steps away from the old St. Charles with 1800’s homes and shops on Main Street and you can visit Missouri’s first capitol and the Katy Trail Museum.
