Trail: Rail Trail crushed limestone Mileage: 109 miles – 36-mile daily average Tour timing: June through October Ride 3-days and 2-nights on this beautiful rail-to-trail in the Black Hills of South Dakota starting in Deadwood. This 109-mile trail is one of the nation’s most scenic, historic and memorable cycling adventures. As you cycle this well-maintained, but challenging trail, you will discover unrivaled natural beauty, geologic wonders and an abundance of wildlife in combination with historic ghost towns, train trestles, bridges and tunnels, reminders of a bygone era. You can add a Black Hills Site Seeing learning about Black Hills history, legends and stories plus be taken to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monuments, Needles Highway, Sylvan Lake and Custer State Park. Monument day - Ride 18 miles to see Crazy Horse Monument and end in Custer
Day 3
Custer to Edgemont - 44 miles then shuttle back to Deadwood - today’s route through descends peacefully through the forests and meadows. You will be picked up at 3pm in Edgemont to shuttle back to your car in Deadwood. If you want a hotel this night you will need to purchase this extra Hotel Night after your tour.
