You begin your 7-day tour in St. Charles where you are picked up and driven to Clinton, MO to start your ride to Sedalia, MO. Then spend the next days riding back to St. Charles enjoying rural Missouri, wildlife, winery towns and riding along the Missouri River. This tour averages 35 miles per day. Your Self-guided tour includes your shuttle from St. Charles to Clinton, first class accommodations with breakfast each morning, Katy Trail guidebook to with maps, detour information and places to eat, Katy Trail T-shirt and patch, packing list and tour training suggestions. We are at your service with personal contact from the planning through the end of your tour. You can also add these features to your tour: * Luggage shuttle to each lodging location plus luggage tag * Extra night stay in St. Charles the day before or the last day of tour * Bike Rentals for either hybrids, gravel bikes or e-bikes * You may start your tour in Clinton with parking in Clinton. Day One -

Shuttle from St. Charles to Clinton, then ride 36 miles to Sedalia – Meet the shuttle van at 8:00am in St. Charles near the eastern end of the Katy Trail. Overnight parking is available at the KATY parking lot and is free for your entire ride. The St. Charles trailhead is a 20-minute drive or taxi/uber from St. Louis Airport (STL). The shuttle will pick you and your bike up and drive directly to the KATY Trailhead in Clinton (3.5 – 4 hours). Begin your ride on the KATY trail and head to Sedalia – 36 miles. Sedalia is home of the State Fair as well as Scott Joplin. Sedalia has a nice KATY Trail Depot museum that is worth your time for a visit.

Day Two

Cycling Day: 37 miles-Sedalia to Boonville

Begin your day at the KATY Trail Depot Museum in Sedalia or the Scott Joplin Museum before departing Sedalia. Your destination on the trail is Boonville, named for Daniel Boone’s Children. Boonville is home to one of Missouri’s Casinos or you can walk the quaint streets and visit their shops.

Day Three

Cycling Day: 31 miles - Boonville to Columbia 

Today you will ride through the only rock tunnel on the trail before Rocheport then take the MKT Spur to Columbia, MO.  The Missouri River and limestone bluffs can be seen frequently after leaving Rocheport which makes for great pictures.  Your night stay in Columbia has many options for dinner and entertainment.

Day Four

Cycling Day - 35 miles - Columbia to Jefferson City 

 Continue to ride along the Missouri river and bluffs then move to farm fields as you approach the State Capital on the Bluffs in the distance.  Cross the Missouri River and take awesome pictures of the Capital and River as you cross the bridge into the city.

Day Five

Cycling Day: 46 miles- Jefferson City to Hermann

Start your day with a return across the bike bridge to the N. Jefferson trailhead. Ride east to McKittrick where you can pick up a bike path into Hermann that crosses the Missouri River on another safe bike bridge. The winery town of Hermann has much to offer including Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries, restaurants and antique shops.

Day Six

Cycling Day: 39 miles- Hermann to Augusta

Today’s destination is Augusta, another small winery town with 257 population. But don’t let the small town fool you, it has 5 wineries, antique shops, glass studio and a wood shop awaiting you in this scenic town.

Day Seven

Cycling Day: 27 miles-Augusta to St. Charles

This is your final day of cycling. Leave the B&B in Augusta and ride east on the trail to St. Charles where you have left your car at the trailhead in St. Charles. But before you get to St. Charles, you need to stop in Defiance, just 7 miles from Augusta to see the squirrel bar or other unique bars in this town. When you arrive in St. Charles you are steps away from the old St. Charles with 1800’s homes and shops on Main Street and you can visit Missouri’s first capitol, KATY Depot and the KATY Trail Museum.
