6-night, 5-day Interior path with a few coastlines - all Rail-to-TrailINQUIRE
This 6-night, 5-day ride from Tignish to Elmira on Prince Edward Island. You have overnights in Charlottetown, Mill River, York, St. Peter’s Bay, and return to Charlottetown. Our route directions will keep you on the Confederation Trail except for lunch and evening lodging. PEI has many quiet paved roads to choose from and you are free to explore or create alternative as you wish. Your tour provides 6 nights along the trail, one bag per person transported to each lodging location, breakfast in most locations, luggage tag, t-shirt and maps with restaurant suggestions. You will ride 170 miles (273 km) on this all rail-to-trail crushed limestone trail in five days. We will book your tour for any start date from June through September. Travel Day – Arrive in Charlottetown, PEI
This is a day to travel to PEI, flying or driving. An overnight stay in Charlottetown is included on Day 1.
Shuttle (9 a.m.): Charlottetown to Tignish (western PEI) and Ride to Mill River
The shuttle will meet you at your lodging for transportation to Tignish in western PEI (2 hour drive). Shuttle will take you to the west end of the trail (Km marker “0” to begin an afternoon ride of 45 km to Mill River, your overnight destination. 45KM (30 mi)
Mill River to Summerside
Today’s ride takes you through farmlands and small towns. Stop in Ellerslie to see how ship building industry thrived in the 1800’s, find ice cream at Richmond Dairy Bar (km 81) then off to Summerside, the Island’s second largest city for evening lodging. 70 KM (44 mi)
Summerside to York
Follow the Trail to Kennsington and stop at the historic Railway Station (km 122) then through rolling hills on your to your lodging where the trail passes just outside the northern part of Charlottetown. 70KM (40 mi)
York to St. Peter's Bay
The Trail follows the Hillsborough River part of the day on the way to St. Peter’s. You might want to check out the beautiful Greenwich PEI National Park (15 Km from St. Peter’s). 53 km (33 mi)
St. Peter's to Elmira at east end of the Confederation Trail
Today’s ride will take you through some of the most scenic coastal views. Take some pictures and enjoy the views. You will ride over the 235 food long Morell River Bridge at km 221 – the longest bridge on the trail. Meet the shuttle at Elmira trailhead for a ride back to Charlottetown and a final overnight on the Island. 43 km (27 mi)
